We approach every home inspection as if we are doing it for a member of our own family. When you work with WalkThrough NY for your home inspection you gain a valuable member on your home buying team. Your home inspector is the one person who is solely working for you, the buyer. When you are purchasing a home, the inspector is the one unbiased professional opinion in the process and it is imperative that you have someone you can trust in that role. This is a responsibility that we take very seriously, we make sure to be available to answer any questions you may have before, during, and after the inspection is completed.

Our inspection reports cover a vast amount of information and are narrated with pictures of each item listed giving you a complete pictorial reference of your home at time of purchase.

We are licensed in all of New York State and Connecticut and are happy to work with you in any area that you are looking to purchase a home.

Typical home inspections will include visual inspections of the following:

Roof, Plumbing and Fixtures, Heating and Cooling Systems, Structural (Basements, Crawl Spaces, and Foundation), Attics, Interior, Exterior, Electrical Systems, Environmental Issues, Decks and Porches, Fireplaces, and Overall Structure.

ROOFING

shingles, flashings, chimneys, vents, trim and gutters, drip edges, skylights, downspouts, and other visible roof related items

STRUCTURAL

Basements, Crawl Spaces, and Foundation (insulation, ventilation, posts, vapor barriers, utility attachment, structural items, floors and walls, and columns)

PLUMBING & FIXTURES

(water pressure, water distribution system, hose bibs, sinks and faucets, bath/showers and toilets, sanitary system, and other plumbing system components)

INTERIOR

(floors and ceilings, walls, stairs (if applicable) and banisters, finishes, sinks, cabinets, shelving, built-in appliances, smoke detectors and safety-related items, and other visible interior-related components)

HEATING & COOLING

(furnace, air cleaning parts, ductwork, air conditioner and lines, and other visible related HVAC components)

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

(service entry and clearances, service panel, switches and outlets, visible wiring and junction boxes, grounding system, and other related electrical components)

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of your scheduled inspection time. Any cancellations occurring less than 24 hours in advance will be charged a cancellation fee of the following:

Less than 2500 sq. ft. - $100 cancellation fee

Over 2500 sq. ft. - $200 cancellation fee
